2006 Head of the Weir River Race


2006 Weir Race Results
Saturday, October 21, 12:30 p.m.
Location: West Corner on route 228 to Windmill Point Boathouse, Hull
Race Start: 12:30 p.m.
Registration: From 11:00 a.m. at the starting line
Coxswains’ Meeting: 11:45 a.m.
Race Fee: $20 per rower

Race Course
From West Corner on Route 228 (the Hull/Hingham/Cohasset town line), the course runs 5.5 miles down the Weir River and across the open water of Hull Bay to the museum's Windmill Point Boathouse. This race is for intermediate and advanced rowers only.

Launch Site
Large Coxed Boats: Adjacent to Nantasket Pier (near Jake's Seafood Restaurant and Carousel).
Small Craft: BEhind the Hull Municipal Garage on Route 228 (West Corner, at the starting line.
Important--NO PARKING inside the garage gate.

Refreshments and Awards
At the Museum's Windmill Point Boathouse, Main Street, after the race.

All coxed boats are required to pre-register for this event. As with all HLMI races, all boats must carry PFDs, bailers, and whistles (or another sound device). The HLMI Race Committee reserves the right to cancel the race or keep individual boats from setting forth due to weather conditions or rower skill level.
