HULL, MA-- On August 19th, from 5-10 pm, local musicians rock The Sea Note on Nantasket Beach at the 5th annual Hullapalooza. Featured bands include the rocking blues of The Pemberton All-Stars, Celtic folk of Tim & Rob, Americana with Brook& Katie, the edgy, young trio Sequester, and rock 'n roll from the 60s to the present with Catbasket. All proceeds support the Hull Lifesaving Museum's youth rowing programs.

Each year, Hullapalooza's participating musicians donate their time and talent to support a different local non-profit organization.

This popular musical benefit, with music for all ages, also features a silent auction featuring fine art and gift certificates for local restaurants and merchants. Thanks to Nantasket Kayaks, the event also features the raffle of a Heritage Featherlite 9.5-foot Kayak.

The Hull Lifesaving Museum is a regional cultural mainstay, offering an outstanding array of programs that attract over 15,000 visitors annually. Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2008, the Museum is widely recognized for its dynamic exhibits, lectures, social service programs, and open water rowing programs in Boston Ha rb or that celebrate and perpetuate the Skills, Courage, and Caring of nation's 19th century lifesavers. All proceeds from the 2007 Hullapalooza concerts will support the Museum?'s Harbor-based youth rowing and programs.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the Lifesaving Museum, the Sea Note or at the door. Kayak Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $25. Tickets for the event and Kayak Raffle may be purchased online at www.lifesavingmuseum.org/hullapalooza, at the Museum at 1117 Nantasket Avenue, Hull, at the Sea Note, or at the door. Silent Auction items also may be viewed or bid upon on the Museum's website.

ABOUT THE MUSICIANS

Catbasket is a loosely structured but tightly knit provider of classic pop-rock nuggets, an experienced but completely unjaded conglomerate conjoined by their love of a great tune. Never satisfied with a "wedding band" set list, the group forges ahead into the nether reaches of popular music to bring their audience a more adventuresome and satisfying experience.

The band's Hull roots go back to the days of the Seals (1980-83), which included keyboardist Steve West, singer Alicia Zipp, and guitarist Brian Middleton, later of the Rafters and Purple Martin. Drummer Dan Lech and bassist Colleen MacDonald have together provided the rumble and smack for bands such as Nobody Home, Slump, and Buttercup; MacDonald has lately been heard getting her twang on in Freeda Rome. The five core members are frequently joined by indispensable fellow travelers Mary Barton-Lech (vocals) and Sue Metro (steel guitar).

The Pemberton All-Stars
Since 1999, The Pemberton All-Stars have been one of Hull's most recognizable and enjoyable party bands covering a wide variety of rock and roll, Rhythm and Blues, and Mo-town favorites. The All-Stars perform throughout the year at several of Hull's finest night-spots including Jo's Nautical Bar, the Sea Note and the Red Parrot. Group members include: Tim Bowles, Laszlo Beres, Bill Walsh, Scott Plympton, Mike Selig, Tom O'Connell, and Mike O'Connell.

Sequester
Guitarist Meg O'Rourke, Pianist and Singer Chris Middleton, Bassist Aiden O'Connell, and Drummer James Cooper are all under age 20--and bring a cool-hot sensibility to their renderings of eclectic 21st century music.

Brook and Katie
Singer Brook Batteau and drummer Katie Hennessey were doin' it way before the White Stripes! Their soul driven rootsy pop folk-rock brings you back in time, then forward (way forward), then back again. Brook loves his melancholic medleys, but he'll throw in some up-tempo original crowd pleasers from time to time just to release those bubbles of emotion that were filling up your belly. Katie's along for the ride--stomping her feet and clapping her hands and hanging her head out the window just because she loves to.
